City of Milton Keynes Swim Club had their best league result ever on Saturday 10th December in Cambridge. Competing in the National Arena League, CMKSC were crowned champions of the East Midlands region and now qualify for the National Final in Cardiff against the other top teams in the country.
The premium national team competition is a 50 race gala and involved 40 Milton Keynes swimmers competing in a variety of senior and age group events. The evening was very close with past champions Peterborough, CMK and Northampton switching places time and again. Eventually CMK pulled ahead with 10 races to go and held on to pip Peterborough by 4 points. The team didn't know for sure until the final results were read out, when it was announced the team celebrated loudly with the trophy (see picture).

Norwich Swan Swimming Club played host to the National Arena Swimming League East Midlands Division Two Final at Wymondham Leisure Centre. Having won both of the two previous rounds, Swan were tied at the top of the league table on maximum points with Calverton and Bingham and St Ives so the stage was set for an extremely tight and competitive gala. This was the third year in succession that Swan had made the final. They finished fourth in 2014 and third last year so they were hopeful of gaining promotion into the Premier League this time.
