Any Club in the North West which is interested in entering the National Arena Swimming League North West are invited to contact the Secretary via the contact page on this part of the Website to discuss the matter.
If you look at the Section on Rules and Docs you will get an appreciation of the League. We have, in addition to the normal programme swum by the Premier, Div 1 and Div 2, a Minor Division which is less demanding in that it has a smaller programme and the need for swimmers is more flexible. This Division is used as a development league and a number of clubs have found it beneficial prior to possibly entering the normal programme.
Formal Registration Forms are normally sent out at the end of April for clubs to commit to the league with the draw for the first round being made in July/August.
Also if any existing clubs in the league intend to withdraw it would be appreciated if they let their intention be know before the registration forms are issued.
All the Third Round (Finals) results and tables are now published on the North West Draws and Results tab. Congratulations to the winners of the Premier Division, Stockport Metro, and to all teams that gained promotion this year. Commiserations to those that have slipped down a division :(
Everything you need to know about the Round 1 (13th Oct) and the Round 2 (10th Nov) draw can be found at the tab Draws and Results. If you cannot find it just keep scrolling down!
The North Western League finals will be held on Saturday 8th December with the top N.West Premier final taking place at Blackpool on Sunday 9th December.
The Round One results will be published on the Draws and Results section once all the results have been collected and verified.
In the meantime the Second Round draw can be seen at the tab Draws and Results.
Up until the 1st September 2018 anyone wishing to contact the North West should use the Contact Form on this website for any queries/enquires regarding the League for 2018. The use of any other method is not guaranteed to produce a response in the timescale that you might wish owing to summer holidays.

As we gear up for the 2018 season of the National Arena Swimming League North West there are a couple of vacancies available in the Minor Division for new clubs. This is a good opportunity for clubs who are not currently in the league to trial a team in the Minor League where there are only 40 events, some of which are mixed (boys and girls).
Any club wishing to know more about the league should contact Mr Brian Boyle, Secretary, via the contact page on this website as soon as possible.
The 2018 AGM of the National Arena Swimming League North West will take place on Saturday 16th June 2018 at 11.00 am the Orford Neighbourhood Hub Building, Jubilee Way, Warrington. Delegates from the clubs are invited to attend.
It was a great result for Pioneer 79's ‘Marshall Mercedez Benz of Bolton’ sponsored Arena League Team at Blackpool this weekend, there were some great performances from the Pioneer swimmers throughout the evening with everyone giving 110%!
The Accrington based club have been involved in the Arena League for the last 15 years and, following some excellent results in the past, they have worked their way up through the Leagues and compete in the Premier League of the North West Arena League. The Arena League currently has 400 teams participating throughout the country, which is split into 7 Regions; East Midlands, London, North East, North West, South, Western and West Midlands. Each Division is then split again into 3 or 4 leagues with teams battling between themselves to gain places into the Premier League. Similar to football leagues, the top/bottom two in each of the lower leagues will be promoted/relegated each year, whilst the top team in each of the ‘Premier’ Leagues, after the ‘A’ Final in their Region, will then go forward and ‘battle it out’ at the Grand Final which is held at a different venue each year, usually in April.
Over the past few years there have been all too regular reports to League Officers of Clubs competing with swimmers who do not meet the eligibility criteria of the League. The particular point in question is the requirement that all competitors must be registered with the ASA, as members of the competing Club from, and including, 1st October in the year of competition. These reports lead to a considerable amount of time having to be spent by league officials trying to establish the facts. The amount of work falling to League Officers has become unreasonable and will not continue.
